Summer term and upcoming courses

A wonderful Summer of art

It’s been a wonderful term with the students at my painting and drawing courses Micklems Farm and Southill Park. Many projects were Summer inspired, with a variety of subjects and materials used. It’s amazing to see what progress they have made over the term, and they go from strength to strength with every project. I can honestly say that’s one of the best parts of the job I do.

After 8 years, this was my last term at Southill Park. Some of the students have been with me all that time and it has been great working there with them. But it is time to move on to new ventures.

I was as delighted with what the students produced as they were, with their wonderful work. I like to build the student’s confidence and with each project, their understanding of the use of materials and how they work.

“Caroline’s courses are all so well thought through. The five projects in each ten week course are all contrasting in style and medium but each one leads on to the next and Caroline’s enthusiasm for each means that you can’t fail to love every one of them. Her step by step tuition covers a wealth of different techniques, with lots of useful tips, individual guidance and encouragement on the way. The perfect way to build your skills in painting and drawing, even if you haven’t picked up a paint brush since your school days!”

Looking forward to the Autumn term

Following my last term at Southill Park I have found a new venue The Cornerstone Wokingham to deliver two brand new courses. There will be a beginner’s course in the morning and an intermediate in the afternoon on Thursdays from mid-September. These courses will run alongside my current course offering at Micklems Farm.

There is going to be some lovely projects coming up for autumn with many of them autumn themed. I’m already thinking about the seasonal colours and the content for these projects as well as one of my favourite parts of the prep before the courses start that is ordering art materials.

I am really excited about by the opportunity to run the new courses in Wokingham, the uptake has been astonishing. I took time to find the right place for my students and The Cornerstone in Wokingham has everything we need for a lovely experience. If you would like to check the availability for any of my courses, or day workshops coming up, please visit the teaching page on my website.

To everyone that I have taught over the Summer, I want to say it’s been a pleasure working with you over the last couple of months. And to students attending any of my upcoming classes, I really look forward to seeing you all in September.
