Course Information

This is an entry-level course, where the focus is on those students who want to learn at a gentle, guided pace. This would be a foundation pathway to build onto in the future, with lots of help and support.

Students may be relatively new to the subject and wish to be taken through the range of projects stage by stage, covering the principles. They will be guided through the primary elements of drawing and painting and gain a general understanding of art materials and how to use them. They will learn about colour theory and the blending and application of colour using various materials and subjects. The projects covered will cover the first steps and essentials needed to build a broad understanding of landscape, portraiture, still life, perspective, composition, drawing and painting skills, using a wide range of subjects and materials.
