Autumn Art Highlights and Exciting Plans for 2025
A Season of Creativity and Connection
Autumn was really special this year with the leaves changing colour, our autumn 10-week art course came alive with the vibrant energy of the season. This term we all found ourselves completely immersed in colour and texture.
Autumnal Projects and Creative Growth
We explored a variety of projects that brought the magic of autumn into students' work. From serene landscapes reflecting in water to expressive portraits in charcoal and soft pastels, each week offered something new to discover. One of my personal highlights was the textured autumn garden project, where students captured the transition from summer’s lush greenery to autumn’s rich, earthy tones. It was great to see everyone experimenting with the range of art materials that I love to prepare and set out, ready for students to paint and draw with, like inks, watercolour and acrylics to create stunning, layered effects.
The quality of the work this term was truly outstanding, and it’s been wonderful to see students pushing their creativity to new levels. Our first term at The Cornerstone in Wokingham has been a resounding success, not only for the art produced but also for the sense of community it has fostered. It’s become a highlight of the week for so many—a place to learn, create, and connect with others who share a love of art. I can see it's something very special. I’ve been delighted to see how my regular students have progressed and become as fascinated with art as I am.
Looking Ahead to the New Year and Spring
With the success of our autumn courses, I am excited to share that I have some lovely new projects lined up for the New Year and spring! These courses will once again take inspiration from the seasons, offering fresh ideas and materials to explore.
Due to the popularity of the current course, I’m adding a Friday morning intermediate class starting in January. This is a fantastic opportunity for those with prior experience to build on their skills and dive deeper into more challenging projects. Spaces are still available, so if you’ve been thinking about joining us, now’s the perfect time to secure your spot.
I’m also running additional Saturday workshops at The Cornerstone in Wokingham. These one-day sessions are perfect for anyone looking to try something new or dedicate a day to focusing on a specific project.
Materials list on Amazon
Students always asked about the materials we use, so there is now an additional page on my website with a full Materials List. This is where you can click on any of the tools, paints and paper that I recommend, pop it into your Amazon basket and build your own art kit based on what's used in the classes.
